whitebuffalo OMAEZAKI PRO 2026 - Day 3 Report
On Friday, October 30, the whitebuffalo OMAEZAKI PRO 2026 entered its thirdday at Omaezaki Long Beach in Shizuoka, Japan.

Unlike the previous day, a swell believed to be generated by the typhoonreached Omaezaki Long Beach before sunrise.
There were plenty of high-quality waves throughout the day, creating clean conditions and giving surfers great opportunities to put up high scores. The sky was mostly cloudy, with the sun occasionally appearing from early morning.
Winds were almost calm, with only a light westerly breeze. The wind had very little effect on the wave faces, allowing the competition to take place in clean conditions.
The day started with the Men's Pro Junior Round of 32.
The biggest highlight was the arrival of swell from Typhoon No. 31. After the small conditions on the previous day, wave size increased, and the quality of the breaks improved as the tide moved. More sections became available for maneuvers, allowing surfers to show their skills across the waves. Finding and reading the changing conditions was key to putting up high scores.

One of the most talked-about surfers of the day was local Omaezaki surfer Mirai Ikeda, who recently won a gold medal at the Asian Games held in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture.

She entered both the Pro Junior and QS2000 divisions. In the Pro Junior competition, she scored an impressive 8.17 points, showing that she is in great form.In an interview, she shared her thoughts on the heat and the conditions:
"I didn't really have a specific strategy, but I felt that if I found the right wave, I could definitely make it count. So I focused on choosing only the good waves and making sure I picked the right ones. Unfortunately, I couldn't find many good waves toward the end, so I'm a little disappointed. I feel like I still have more to show.
Today's conditions are really good. The wind isn't affecting the waves too much, and the swell is coming in consistently, so it's really fun to compete in these conditions.
Also, since Omaezaki is my hometown, I feel very comfortable competing here. I know so many people around the event site, which makes me feel relaxed. My house is close by, so I can easily go home, and being at home instead of traveling for a competition makes a big difference.
Thank you as always for all your support. I'll keep doing my best so I can give you more interviews like this. Please keep cheering for me!"
Looking ahead to Saturday, October 31, wave size is expected to increase even more as the typhoon swell continues to arrive. The Men's and Women's QS2000 competitions are scheduled to continue. How the surfers read and adapt to the changing conditions will be important as they look to advance through their heats.
As the event moves into its second half, the competition at Omaezaki continues to heat up.
The first call for Day 4 is scheduled for 6:30 a.m.
