whitebuffalo OMAEZAKI PRO 2026 - Final Day Report
Hiroto Arai Wins His First WSL Event in 10 Years. Local Surfer Mirai Ikeda Takes the Women's Pro Junior Title.

On Sunday, November 1, the whitebuffalo OMAEZAKI PRO 2026 reached itsfinal day at Omaezaki Long Beach in Shizuoka, Japan.

Wave size remained similar to the previous day, with some slightly bigger sets coming through at certain times. As the sun came up, the wind also became lighter, creating clean conditions with smooth wave faces. It was a great way to finish the event, with surfers competing for the titles in each division.
Men's QS2000 Final - Hiroto Arai Claims His First WSL Victory in 10 Years

One of the biggest highlights of the day was the Men's QS2000 final between Hiroto Arai and Raimu Yamamoto. It was a matchup between an experienced veteran and a young surfer full of momentum.
Arai found some steep, powerful waves and showed fast, powerful surfing, connecting precise bottom turns with sharp top turns. He also managed to complete his rides all the way through the closing sections, showing great control and consistency. His performance was enough to finish ahead of the young Yamamoto.
After the final, Arai shared his thoughts:
"First of all, thank you so much for all the support! I'm really happy to win again after 10 years. I'm truly grateful to everyone who has supported me, including my sponsors, family, friends, and everyone who came out to cheer for me. Each and every one of you gave me a lot of motivation.
We're still around the middle of the season, so I'll keep focusing on what I can do, one step at a time, as we move into the second half.
I think my ranking has improved quite a bit with this result, but there are still so many strong surfers out there who will continue scoring points. I don't want to get too comfortable, and I'll keep working to improve my backup scores little by little."
By reading and making the most of the waves at Omaezaki, Arai secured his first WSL event victory in 10 years. With this win, he moved up to No. 2 in the Asia rankings. His experience and skills came together perfectly in the waves of Omaezaki, giving him great momentum heading into the rest of the tour.
Women's QS2000 Final - Kana Nakashio Takes the Win

The Women's QS2000 final was a matchup between Kana Nakashio and Anon Matsuoka.
Neither surfer was able to put together big scores during the first half of the heat, as both struggled with the steep waves in the middle section. However, Nakashio found a promising left-breaking wave and launched a big lip maneuver, connecting from the bottom to the top of the wave.
That ride earned her 8.15 points. Combined with her backup score of 4.33 points, she built a total of 12.50 points and took a strong lead. She maintained her advantage until the end to claim the victory. In her interview, Nakashio said: "Thank you so much for all the support. I'm really happy that we had such good waves here in Omaezaki, and I was able to surf well heading into my next event in Peru.
This year, I'm in a good position in the CS rankings to aim for the CT, so that's what I'll be working toward this season. I think having confidence in my own surfing when I compete is what has helped me get these results. I also compete in domestic events, but this event has a different atmosphere. There are so many food trucks and different shops around the venue, and you can really see how many companies are supporting the event. It made me realize just how much effort and support from all these sponsors goes into making this competition happen."
Women's Pro Junior - Local Favorite Mirai Ikeda Takes the Title

In the Women's Pro Junior division, local Omaezaki surfer Mirai Ikeda claimed the championship.
After her victory, she shared her thoughts:
"Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support me. And a big thank you to everyone who watched and cheered for me online as well.
Since the beginning of this event, I haven't really been able to surf the way I wanted to, and I couldn't quite put together the kind of heats I was hoping for all the way to the end. But I know there will be more opportunities, so I'll keep practicing and working hard.
Thank you so much, everyone.
This is an event I really look forward to every year. There were so many familiar faces among the event staff again this year, which made me feel comfortable and relaxed while competing.
My goal from here is to keep working hard and become a top-level surfer who can compete on the world stage, coming from Omaezaki."
With the familiar waves of her hometown as the stage, Ikeda showed her ability in the final and took home the title. Having a local surfer win an international event held in her own hometown made this an especially meaningful victory for Omaezaki.
Men's Pro Junior - Kaiyo Adachi Takes the Championship

In the Men's Pro Junior final, Kaisei Adachi made his move just two minutes into the heat. He attacked a thick, powerful lip, going for a big roll-in maneuver.
The timing and potential of the wave helped him earn an impressive 7.50 points. That early wave proved to be the deciding moment, allowing Adachi to hold on to his lead and take the championship.
After the final, he shared his excitement:
"I haven't had many results this year that were quite what I wanted, but today I achieved the biggest result of my life. I'm really grateful to everyone who has supported me. Thank you so much.
The next Pro Junior event in Hyuga is coming up very soon, so I'm going to do my best to win that one too!"
After five days of competition in waves that constantly changed with the wind and tides, the whitebuffalo OMAEZAKI PRO 2026 came to a close, with four new champions crowned across the four divisions.
